It was earlier this year when Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gigi Bryant’s untimely death in a plane crash sent shock waves across his fans. Now if the reports are to go by, Berge Zobayan, brother and law representative for Ara George Zobayan who was the pilot, has responded to Vanessa Bryant’s wrongful lawsuit.
According to the new documents filed on May 8, Berge Zobayan has argued that not just Ara or the helicopter company, but all the passengers on board are to be blamed for the crash. The passengers on board were Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna aka Gigi, Alyssa Altobelli, John Altobelli, Keri Altobelli, Payton Chester, Sarah Chester, and Christina Mauser.
According to a report in Hollywood Life, the legal document says, “any injuries or damages to plaintiffs and/or their decedent were directly caused in full or in part by the negligence or fault of plaintiffs and/or their decedent, including their knowing and voluntary encounter with the risks involved, and that this negligence was a substantial factor in causing their purported damages, for which this answering defendant bears no responsibility.”

Meanwhile, Berge Zobayan is also demanding a jury trial of Kobe Bryant’s three daughters, Natalia, Bianka and Capri. He is asking them as plaintiffs according to the statement.
For the unversed, Kobe Bryant’s wife Vanessa Bryant had filed a lawsuit in February against the helicopter company and pilot Ara George Zobayan. Her statement read, “seeking compensatory and punitive damages stemming from a helicopter crash in Calabasas, California on or about January 26, 2020, which resulted in the deaths of Kobe Bryant and GB, minor.”
However, the investigation for the reason behind the crash is still on. The last reports had no sign of any mechanical issue or engine failure.
