Actor Kevin Spacey has been accused of sexual harassment and assault allegations by more than 30 different individuals. Actor Anthony Rapp, who claims to be one of the victims, has now filed a lawsuit against the actor. Rapp, who has worked in Rent on Broadway and in Star Trek: Discovery on TV, had first spoken out against the Oscar-winning Spacey in 2017.
Following his allegations, several other sexual assault survivors began speaking up against the American Beauty actor. This has resulted in Spacey’s up-to-then celebrated career coming to an abrupt end.

As per a report by Buzzfeed, Anthony Rapp said that Kevin Spacey befriended him in 1986 when he was 14-years-old. At that time, Rapp was performing in the Broadway play Precious Sons.

Anthony Rapp filed his lawsuit in the New York state court in Manhattan. In his lawsuit, he detailed what he has said publicly that Kevin Spacey made a sexual advance on him when he attended a party as a teenager. Interestingly, another unidentified man, along with Rapp, has filed a lawsuit against the actor.
The unidentified man had alleged that Spacey had oral and anal sex and engaged in other sexual acts on several occasions in the early 1980s. The alleged incident happened when the plaintiff was only 14. Now both men, who are seeking unspecified damages for emotional distress, have filed the lawsuit under New York’s 2019 Child Victims Act.

According to News18, their lawyer Peter J. Saghir said, “This lawsuit sends a strong message that no matter how wealthy, powerful or famous you maybe you are not above the law.”
Spacey has been embroiled in several other legal cases. However, last October prosecutors in Los Angeles rejected a sexual battery case because the accuser had died.
