Well, now what’s surprising is that this hate towards Fonda dates to ages ago. Well, it all began in 1972 where American troops were at war with North and South Vietnam 10 gruesome. However, lack of progress in the war led to widespread protests across the US and it was that time when Fonda, who was at the peak of her stardom, supported the anti-war movement.
Things took a turn for the worst when Jane decided to visit North Vietnam, in what became of the most controversial trips made by an actor. This is exactly where Jane Fonda earned the nickname of ‘Hanoi Jane’ for herself. Not only that but Jane also urged American air-crafts to not attack non-bombing military targets in Vietnam.

While Jane appeared on several radio shows in Vietnam, it was one particular image of hers seated in an anti-aircraft in Hanoi, which made her look like someone ready to shoot American air-crafts despite being an American herself.
Some of the hate messages on Twitter for Jane Fonda’s appearance on the sets of ‘Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’ read:
“Hanoi Jane Fonda is on ‘Who wants to be a millionaire’. American traitors get to play tv games just like Vietnam vets. What a slap in the face for America heroes.”
“Jane Fonda is on Who wants to be a millionaire and she’s incredibly unlikable. She also said she’s never been the first to do anything. I guess she forgot about being the first American to sit on a communist tank in support of the enemy during the Vietnam war.”
“Its possible Id watch @ABCNetwork Who Wants to be a Millionaire if it weren’t for the liberal turd list: Jane F***in Fonda?! Really? Kimmel?! Anderson Cooper of fake @CNN… what a bunch of pukes!”
While that certainly is a lot of hate to be carried on for so many years. Do let us know what you feel about the entire episode in our comments section below.
