Heather Locklear recently opened up about a ‘gross’ encounter with James Naughton while filming for the 1996 movie ‘The First Wives Club’. But any such claims are denied by Naughton. He says he was only following the script. Read on to know the full story.
Locklear recently appeared on Zach Braff And Donald Faison’s Podcast ‘Fake Doctors, Real Friends’. While explaining a scene from the movie, she said, “We were at a funeral, and he was supposed to take his hand and touch my breast.”
Heather Locklear continues, “He actually touched more… It was… gross… (He) actually outlines my areola with his finger.” After this incidence, the actress was shocked and disgusted by James Naughton’s inappropriate behavior. This is why she asked the filmmakers to remove her name from the credits of “The First Wives Club.”

However, James Naughton also spoke about the incidence and says he was merely following what was detailed in the script. His representative talked to Yahoo Entertainment. As per Naughton’s rep, “James remembers shooting this scene as written in the script. He completely understands that Heather would have felt uncomfortable shooting this scene, as he felt uncomfortable as well.”
And to prove his point, James Naughton dug out a copy of the script and provided it to Yahoo Entertainment. The text dated December 9, 1995. Naughton played Gil Griffin in the film. The script stated: “Despite the grave facade, we see that Gil is subtly using his finger to feel Mary’s breast. Mary smiles at him shyly.”
