In Avengers: Endgame, Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man successfully manages to kill Thanos by snapping his fingers using the infinity gauntlet. While the superheroes win the battle, Tony Stark loses his life in the process.
In Avengers: Infinity War, Doctor Strange tells Iron Man that in 14 million realities, they only win one battle against the Mad Titan. In that one reality, Iron Man wipes away Thanos’ existence using the infinity stones just like he did to others in Infinity War. However, in Marvel comics, the mightly villains kill our superhero and in a gruesome way.
In the chapter ‘Thanos wins’ Donny Cates, Geoff Shaw, Antonio Fabela, and Clayton Cowles, Thanos first kills Doctor Strange and Spider-Man. When Iron Man tries to get the infinity gauntlet from him, the Mad Titan attacks him. After that, Thanos rips Tony Stark into pieces. Yes, that’s right. Iron Man’s death in the comics is painful and heartbreaking.
