FRIENDS Fame Mary Pat Gleason Passes Away Due To Cancer; Hollywood Mourns Her Death

Mary Pat Gleason who made a brief appearance in FRIENDS and was known for her work in Crucible, Intolerable Cruelty passed away at the age of 70. She was suffering from Cancer and fought till her last breath with the deadly disease.

Hollywood is mourning the loss of someone as incredible as Mary Pat Gleason. She appeared for over 100 times on small and big screen. In FRIENDS she was seen as a medical receptionist Nurse Sizemore in the first season.

Her nephew informed Entertainment Tonight that she didn’t want any public service but wanted just her closed ones to pay respects through a personal memorial. She was moved to her friend’s home in the final days and her nephew said, “They took wonderful care of her. It was really bittersweet but her family could not have asked for better care.” He also said, “It meant so much to find out as a family how loved and respected she was in the Hollywood community.”

Janney who shared screen-space with Mary Pat Gleason said, “We said goodbye to Mary Pat Gleason yesterday. She was part of our @mom_cbs family and we loved her so much. She was one of our favourite guest stars. Her kind heart and warm smile will be missed. RIP dear Mary Pat 💔.”

Her Mom co-star Mimi Kennedy also got emotional while paying her a tribute and said, “I’m saddened to learn that Mary Pat Gleason (Mary on @mom_cbs) passed away,” Kennedy captioned a photo of the actress. “From her nephew, ‘Her curtain closed at 10:20 Tuesday evening.’ I’m sure she was met with thunderous applause and a great party backstage. My love to you Mary and to your loved ones.”

Her Pencil Town co-star, George Steeves tweeted, “Last night I was saddened to hear about the passing of my colleague and friend Mary Pat Gleason. I had the honour of working with Mary Pat in Pencil Town last year,” he wrote. “It was truly an honour to be in her presence. Thank You for the conversations and the words of encouragement. #RIP”

She will be remembered for her roles in The Crucible, Intolerable Cruelty, and A Cinderella Story. She was last seen in the 2018 Netflix movie Sierra Burgess Is a Loser.
