Amid Ellen DeGeneres’ Non-Payment Of Dues, James Corden Takes Charge To Pay 60 Employees

TV host and actor James Corden will be paying the salaries of 60 people, who have been furloughed from the production department of his “The Late Late Show” reportedly from his own pocket.

He took the decision after getting to know that the staff members were informed by CBS that the network will not be paying them any longer.

The production for the show was halted in March with the lockdown order due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and James Corden has been presenting the show from his Los Angeles home since April 14.

Last week, the TV host informed some staffers that they would be furloughed and that he would be covering their salaries out of his own pocket. The total cost that Corden will be shelling out is unclear, but is likely to be at least mid-five figures a week.

Meanwhile, James Corden along with his team is keeping “The Late Late Show” staffers engaged amid the lockdown with work-from-home projects related to the show.

He is spending his lockdown period with his three children and wife Julia.

All of this is happening post the recent Ellen DeGeneres row, where the TV host was accused of ill behaviour and non-payment of dues amid lockdown.

Tom Majercak, formerly a senior manager with Security Imagery Specialists, was assigned to work with Ellen during the 2014 Oscars, which she was supposed to host. During the first introduction, the host gave a side eye to the bodyguard without any proper greet on the first meeting.
