Dwyane ‘The Rock’ Johnson Calls Out Donald Trump In A Video Supporting #BlackLivesMatter Movement

Recently, a tragic incident took place at Minneapolis, where four police officers arrested a man named George Floyd. On May 25, George died after one of the police officers kneeled down on his neck till the time he got choked to death. Since the video of the incident went viral, celebrities across the world have raised their voice against racial discrimination. Now Dwayne Johnson aka The Rock has called out US President Donald Trump for poorly handling the chaotic ongoing situation in the country.

The Rock is known for being vocal about social and political issues through social media, he was amongst the first ones in celebrities who opened up about George Floyd’s death. Now in a video posted on social media, The Rock questioned Donald Trump’s lack of leadership amid the protests against George Floyd’s death.

The video starts with The Rock saying – “Where are you? Where is our leader? Where are you? Where’s our leader at this time when our country is down on its knees begging, pleading, hurt, angry, frustrated, in pain, begging and pleading with its arms out just wanting to be heard? Begging and pleading for change? Where are you? Where is our compassionate leader?”.

While sharing the video on Instagram, The Rock wrote in the caption – “Where are you? Our country is crippled and on its knees, begging to be heard and pleading for change. Where is our compassionate leader? The leader who unifies and inspires our country at our most painful time when we need it the most. The leader who steps up and takes full accountability for our country and embraces every color in it. The leader who picks our country up off its knees and says you have my word – we got this – and together, the change will happen. Where are you? Because we’re all here. Maybe one day that galvanizing leader will emerge. Either way, the process to change has already begun. #normalizeequality #blacklivesmatter”.

Though The Rock didn’t take Trump’s name directly, it’s obvious that he is referring to him. Meanwhile, Donald Trump’s comments and tweets about protesters and suggesting violence against looters have been widely criticized by many other celebrities.
