Oscar-winning actor Robert de Niro shares an intense scene with Leonardo DiCaprio in the latest film Killers of the Flower Moon. In the scene, Niro’s William Hale could be seen brutally hitting Leo’s Ernest Burkhart. Now, cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto recently revealed that the Once Upon A Time In Hollywood star wore some padding on his bums as de Niro was really hitting him.

Talking to Insider, Prieto said, “I do remember doing them quite a few times and thinking, ‘Oh, that must hurt.’” He further praised Leonardo DiCaprio for his dedication to a perfect shot and said, “There was some padding on his b*tt. But you could tell De Niro was really hitting him. … Leo is game for so much. He’ll do anything.”

He even added that the padding scene halfway through the story was not in the “first script,” and added, “That was something that was added, and it’s shocking in the film.”

For the unversed, Killers of the Flower Moon is based on David Grann’s 2017 book of the same name. It revolves around the story of the indigenous people in Oklahoma who were murdered after oil was found under their land. An investigation later takes place to understand the crime scene.
