Maite Perroni is known for being a part of Mexican pop group RBD. She pursued her acting aspirations via Televisa telenovelas and a few romantic movies. But it seems that Perroni is all set to take up new challenges and explore more diverse roles than merely a naïve and romantic woman.

She is recently seen in Netflix’s new erotic thriller named Oscuro Deseo (Dark Desire) which released on 15th July. In the series, Perroni plays the character of Alma, a married woman who gets engaged in a lot of fornication with 25 years old Darío after doubting that her husband was cheating on her. The series includes a lot of passionate s*x scenes.

Speaking about her role, Maite Perroni told Forbes, “This has been a great opportunity. I think it is one of the best projects I’ve been involved in. It has given me the opportunity of doing something different, something that takes me out of my comfort zone, something that I think is very important.”

Maite Perroni added that she is very excited about being able to be a part of Netflix, which is the biggest platform for streaming content. She added that she is very proud that Dark Desire is a Mexican project.

“I think that’s very important to mention because we can show the world that we can do something different and we can do something well done. The photography, narration, story, the acting, everything is done with love, with passion, and with a lot of time, work, and dedication. So, I love to share our work with the world,” the actress said.
