Whereas moviegoers in India are still waiting with bated breath for reopening of cinema halls, fans in China are rewatching Robert Downey Jr’s Dolittle and Christopher Nolan’s masterpiece Interstellar.
Cinema halls in China have reopened with a fresh set of rules and regulations to follow. Both the films i.e. Interstellar & Dolittle mentioned above are creating havoc at the Chinese box office. This also proves one thing of how much audiences have missed the experience of watching a movie at cinema halls.
The strategy of re-releasing big films like Interstellar have worked for them, and it seems theatre owners and exhibitors back in India will follow the same route. Movies like Tanhaji and Good Newwz stand a good chance of being experimented to re-release once the lockdown is relieved.
