The Black Eyed Peas released a brand new music video titled ‘Action’ last week and Indian fans are going dizzy. If you think that the music video is any other music video in Hollywood, then hold your thoughts. With the latest music video, the musical group, consisting of rappers Will.i.am, apl.de.ap and Taboo, took an effort to raise awareness on alarming fake news and deep fake videos. The group used deep fake technology, to combine all five footages from five different Indian action films. Needless to say, the video has become a treat for their Indian fans.
Black Eyed Peas used the scenes from films like Shankar’s Enthiran (Robot in Hindi) starring Rajinikanth, Rohit Shetty’s Singham starring Ajay Devgn, SS Rajamouli’s Maryada Ramanna, and Sundar C’s Aambala. With the help of deep fake technology, makers have replaced the faces of Ajay Devgn’s and Rajinikanth’s with Will.I.Am and Taboo’s, respectively.
Will.i.am later took to Twitter to reveal the music video and it is inspired by India and Bollywood. He wrote, “Check out our video for #ACTION inspired by #BOLLYWOOD…ive always loved music from india…#Elephunk and #MonkeyBusiness were inspired by Indian Culture…thank you india for your vibrancy and contribution to the world.”

To which, music legend AR Rehman replied to the tweet. He wrote, “The borders are blurring through art! #tamilcinema @directorshankar #rajnikant #india.” However, this is not the first time that the musical group has taken inspiration from Indian music.
Black Eyed Peas had earlier took inspiration from the tune of Don song Ye Mera Dil for their chartbuster Don’t Phunk with my Heart. Similarly, the group had sampled another Hindi song, Ae Naujawan from film Apradh for the same song.
Currently, the musical group Black Eyed Peas include Will.i.am, apl.de.ap and Taboo. Fergie, who had been with the group for more than 10 years, had stepped away in 2017. Will.i.am also spoke about her departure recently. He said, “We love her, and she’s focusing on being a mom. That’s a hard job, and that’s what she really wants to do and we’re here for her… It’s really the way Fergie designed it, so we’re respecting her design. We love Fergie, and we don’t want anything but awesomeness for her.”
