In Avengers: Infinity War, we saw Captain America (played by Chris Evans) using the Wakandan shield to fight the enemies. When Thanos’ troops conduct an attack on Wakanda, Captain America doesn’t have his regular shield as he leaves it with Iron Man (played by Robert Downey Jr). However, it was crucial for him to be a part of that battle and hence, T’Chala (played by Chadwick Boseman) provides him with the Wakanda shield. We can’t deny that our Cap totally rocked the new gauntlet-type vibranium shield.
Every day, Marvel and their team surprise us with unknown facts and some behind-the-scenes tales. Yesterday, we saw how Thanos was initially going to destroy Captain America’s unbreakable shield with his bare hands in Avengers: Endgame. The revelations were made by Ryan Meinerding, Marvel Studios’ Head of Visual Development on his Instagram page.
Another scoop Ryan shared with us is about Avengers: Infinity War and Captain America’s Wakandan shield. The shield we saw in the film had spiky designs on it. However, Ryan showed us how they had first designed these Wakandan shields for Steve Rogers. They look as powerful and big as Thanos’ Infinity gauntlet. He captioned this pic, “Unused Cap Wakandan shields from Avengers: Infinity War“.
