It was announced some time back that Anil Kapoor would be playing a lead protagonist in a true blue Hollywood flick Cities. However delays in the shooting plans for the Orlando Bloom and Kirsten Dunst starrer means Kapoor may have to let go off the project in favour of his pet project ’24’.
“Anil Kapoor has been really excited about ‘Cities’ from Day One. This is a huge film but was unfortunately put on hold for quite some time. In fact there was a stage when it was quite uncertain if the film would progress any further. Now that it is coming back on track, Anil is apprehensive if he would be able to dedicate time on the film. Reason being that his ’24’ series is all set to go on floors in the month of February. He would be shooting non-stop till July and in case ‘Cities’ requires his dates around the same timelines, it would be an issue”, informs a source.
‘Cities’ is a thriller that brings together three different stories from London, Mumbai, and New York as the Dow Jones nears an all time high. Even though Anil Kapoor’s story is set in Mumbai, it is highly unlikely that the actor would be juggling his dates between the film and ’24’, which would also be shot in Mumbai.
Says Kapoor, “Well, I am in touch with the makers. The good part is that ‘Cities’ is happening and gaining good momentum. I am keeping my fingers crossed. However I have to give ’24’ all it’s time and attention. I am crossing my fingers that hopefully shooting of ‘Cities’ doesn’t overlap or cut too close to ’24’. If that happens, I would have to pass ‘Cities’. That would be unfortunate though.”
