2020 was a crucial year for Hollywood. A lot of big films and series were going to release this month/were being shot; especially by Disney and Marvel. However, due to the coronavirus crisis, the entertainment industry has come to complete lockdown.

Due to the pandemic, the releases of many Marvel and Disney films have been cancelled. The shootings of upcoming Marvel series are stalled which are expected to release in 2020 as well as 2021. Black Widow (Marvel & Disney)

Starring Scarlett Johansson, this was a very crucial film for the MCU. Black Widow, which was supposed to release on May 1 (worldwide) and April 30 (India) is now postponed. With this film, fans were finally going to know about Natasha Romanoff’s past and how she became the Black Widow and an Avenger.

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (Marvel & Disney+)

Starring Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, this Disney+ series by Marvel is set after the events that happened in Avengers: Endgame. The makers of this series were the first one to call off the shooting of their series. In this exciting series, we will get to see Falcon’s avatar as the new Captain America. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is supposed to premiere on August 2020. However, considering the shooting is now stopped, no one knows if the date will remain the same or not.

Mulan (Disney)

This action drama film by Disney was supposed to be out on March 27, 2020, but is now postponed. The film stars Liu Yifei in the title role, alongside Donnie Yen, Jason Scott Lee, Yoson An, Gong Li, and Jet Li. Mulan is an adaptation of Disney’s 1998 animated film of the same name. The makers haven’t announced the new release date yet.

Loki (Marvel & Disney+)

When MCU announced they are coming with a standalone series for Loki (starring Tom Hiddleston), the excitement it was sky-high. Fans love the God of Mischief and hence, this was one of the much-awaited series from Marvel. The series is about Loki, who escaped with the tesseract when the superheroes go in the past to collect infinity stones in Avengers: Endgame. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the shooting of Tom’s show was called off. Loki is expected to release in early 2021, so the chances of makers pushing the streaming date are fewer.

The Little Mermaid, The Last Duel, Home Alone, Nightmare Alley, and Peter Pan & Wendy (Disney)

The production of these Disney ventures has been called off due to the current situation in the world. But not many details about these projects are out. These were important and big projects for Disney and the delay in the shooting is expected to affect their respective release dates.

Shang-Chi and the Legends of the Ten Rings (Marvel)

When the news came out that director Daniel Cretton is suspected to be infected with coronavirus, along with his health, there were concerns about the future of this film. The shooting of the film was called off immediately 2 weeks ago. Thankfully, the tests came out negative and Daniel is safe and sound. However, the production house decided to not resume the shoot until the situation becomes normal.

WandaVision (Marvel & Disney +)

Elizabeth Olsen’s WandaVision will be telling us the action-packed and astonishing story of Scarlet Witch and JARVIS (played by Paul Bethany). However, due to the pandemic, Marvel & Disney+ together decided to stop the shooting of the series which is expected to be out in December this year.
