Actor Gerard Butler and real estate developer-designer girlfriend, Morgan Brown have called it quits after dating more than 6 years together. The couple has had an on-again, off-again relationship from almost the start of their relationship.

The duo made their relationship public with PDA pictures from a beach date in Malibu, California, in September 2014. The couple was last seen together in early July while picking up groceries. They were also snapped publicly sharing a kiss on a beach earlier this month.

A source exclusively told US Weekly that the P.S. I Love You actor and Brown are “both handling the breakup with maturity.” The pair, who was first linked in 2014, called it quits because Butler “couldn’t fully settle down with Morgan and commit,” the source added.

Following the split, the source explains that “those close to them believe they’re better off as friends.”

Morgan Brown was Gerard Butler‘s date at the premiere for his movie Angel Has Fallen in August 2019. The couple walked the red carpet as a couple at the Academy Awards this February.

Here’s a look at their relationship timeline. Gerard Butler and Morgan Brown announced their relationship during a beach trip in the fall of 2014. The pair reconnected in April 2016 after a briefly splitting from each other. In November 2016, the couple once again called it quits. By July 2017, Butler and Brown rekindled their romance while on a trip to Tulum, Mexico. Three months later, Butler was reportedly single again.

On the work front, Gerard Butler will soon feature in Greenland. He has no less than six other films in various stages of production in his kitty.
