A while ago, Nicole Young filed for divorce with husband, Andre Romelle Young – known by his stage name Dr Dre – citing irreconcilable differences. Young sought spousal support as well as a division of his property.
On Tuesday, Nicole Young released a statement that is nothing less than a bombshell. Young’s, who herself is a lawyer, response to the rapper’s claim that they had an ironclad prenuptial agreement in place is shocking. She recently filed legal docs, in which she claims she was forced to sign the prenup back in 1996.
As per TMZ, in the recent filings, Young claims she was ‘backed into a corner’ and that she feels she is entitled to a portion of the 55-year-old hip-hop icon’s $1 billion worth after 24 years of marriage.

In the latest filing, Nicole mentioned, “I was extremely reluctant, resistant and afraid to sign the agreement and felt backed into a corner. Given the extraordinary pressure and intimidation by Andre, I was left with no option but to hire a lawyer (of course, with the help of Andre’s team of professionals) and unwillingly signed the agreement very shortly before our marriage.”
It further read, “Andre acknowledged to me that he felt ashamed he had pressured me into signing a premarital agreement and he tore up multiple copies of the agreement in front of me. Since the day he tore up the agreements, we both understood that there was no premarital agreement and that it was null and void.”
Sources close to Dr Dre tell TMZ another story. They said he never expressed shame over the prenup and never tore it up or called it invalid.
Dr Dre has earlier said that he’s fine paying Nicole spousal support but asks for any distribution of property to be governed by their prenuptial agreement.
