DC has a great fan following and is often known for having dark stories. Their heroes undoubtedly have a great fan following, but it can be safely said their villains are super scary and interesting. One such villain is Joker who always had powerful face-off against Batman.
Talking about Joker, a lot of actors have portrayed the clown of crime on the big screen in DC films. Jack Nicholson, Cesar Romero, Heath Ledger, Jared Leto, and Joaquin Phoenix are the actors played the evil clown in several films. These actors managed to leave us tensed with their amazing portrayal. However, Heath Ledger’s portrayal of Batman’s nemesis has always been the majority of people’s favourite.
With his performance as Joker in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight (2008), Heath Ledger managed to frighten the audience and win their hearts too. Did you know Heath Ledger’s Joker terrified one of his co-stars so much, he forgot to say his lines? To clear out, the actor is not Christian Bale aka Bruce Wayne/Batman. It’s actor Michael Caine who played the role of Wayne’s butler, Alfred Pennyworth.

That’s our DC Trivia #2 for today. In an interview with WENN earlier, Michael Caine shared, “You think Jack Nicholson in the role and you can’t imagine anyone topping him. Heath’s just as good in another direction. He’s terrifying. The first time I saw him, we were rehearsing. He comes up in the elevator to me in Batman’s flat and raids the place. And I hadn’t seen him, I’d never met him and he comes out screaming and it’s like ‘wow’. I completely forgot my lines. Scary. It will frighten the life out of people.”
No wonder Joker remains Heath Ledger’s one of the best and memorable performances. His fans think than no one can match up to the madness he showed in the film. Unfortunately, the actor passed away even before the film released. In January 2008, Ledger lost his life due to overdose of prescribed medications. The Dark Knight released in July the same year. For his act as Joker, the late actor posthumously won an Oscar award in Best Supporting Category in 2009.
