It came as a huge surprise when we came across news of major layoffs by WarnerMedia. The move is said to have been triggered by different reasons and one of them is the COVID-19 pandemic. It is learnt that some high positioned figures have been released at DC Comics and DC Universe, and it hasn’t gone down well with the fans.
The names which have been given the pink slips include – Bob Harris (Editor-in-Chief), Hank Kanalz (Senior VP of Publishing Strategy and Support Services). The list also includes- Bobbie Chase (VP of Global Publishing Initiatives and Digital Strategy), Brian Cunningham (Senior Story Editor) and many more.
Also, Jeffrey Schlesinger (President of Warner Bros. Worldwide Television Distribution), Ron Sanders (President of Warner Bros. Worldwide Theatrical Distribution and Home Entertainment and Executive Vice President of International Business) and Kim Williams (Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Warner Bros. Entertainment), were amongst the released ones as per Variety.

If DC, HBO and Warner Media need to lay off that much staff, I can’t even begin to start about how mismanaged that entire chunk of entertainment is.

How the heck can lay off so many people before DCFandome? AT&T legit has no respect for DC comics at all

Dammit, I feel slightly more informed on this whole DC Comics lay off, news.
I hope it’s not as bad as it sounds, that those impacted are okay, and hoping like hell the company has bounced back from worse in the past.
