With the outbreak of COVID-19, the world was scared and was looking for possible reasons for the virus. Many then discovered the movie Contagion and it is still trending. Now, Matt Damon who played the lead in the movie has opened up that he is not at all surprised by COVID-19 and you obviously know why. If you don’t, scroll below.

For the unversed, Contagion starring Matt Damon alongside Kate Winslet, Gwyneth Paltrow, Laurence Fishburne, and Jude Law is based on a virus that is initiated by a bat and turns out to be a pandemic. The film is about finding the cure and the aftermath of it. Déjà vu?

Matt Damon might be feeling like he is reliving the film, just this time he isn’t the one with the responsibility to find the cure. The actor in a recent interview with SPIN 1038, revealed that he isn’t surprised at all. He said that it wasn’t wise to have suggested that one could have predicted a pandemic. He said all one has to do is look back at the 2011 release Contagion.

Matt Damon who’s stepdaughter recently contracted COVID-19 and won the battle, said that he spoke to the experts on the sets of Contagion and had learnt about the pandemic. He has been talking to writer Scott Z. Burns since the beginning of COVID-19.

Meanwhile, another actor from the film, Gwyneth Paltrow, while she was flying to Paris for a fashion week had shared a masked picture and said she had already seen a virus developing. She wrote, “Been in this movie before.” If you are unversed, it is her character that gets the virus when she shakes hands with a chef who has handled a slaughtered pig that had come in contact with an infected bat.
