After getting delayed for a while now, Deepika Padukone’s Padmaavat finally released on January 24, 2018. The film was first supposed to release on December 1, 2017. It faced a lot of controversies from the members of Karni Sena and Rajput community but it somehow made it to the theatres.
When it comes to the box office, she is one of the most dependable stars and has an amazing star-pull. Her highest opening weekend earner was Happy New Year which collected 108.86 crores in its first weekend at the box office.
But, now Padmaavat tops the list with 114 Crores. The movie earned well at the box office and crossed the 100 crore mark because it released on 24th January (paid previews) and full from 25th January so it had a 4 day weekend + additional paid previews.
