Ranveer Singh’s Highest Weekend Opener: Padmaavat Takes The First Position

Ranveer Singh’s Padmaavat is the first movie that has enjoyed a long weekend. This magnum opus had a four-day long weekend + paid previews. The film collected 5 crores on its paid previews day.

Padmaavat has become Ranveer’s highest weekend opener with 114 crores. The best part is that this is the biggest weekend opener of Ranveer. Second on the list is Ramleela with 52.60 crore while third on the list is Bajirao Mastani with 46.77 crore and Gunday is in the fourth position with 43 crore.

Padmaavat is Ranveer Singh’s third tryst with director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. They have earlier teamed together for Ramleela (2013) and Bajirao Mastani (2015). Padmaavat released on 25th January and has been in the news for it’s amazing reviews.

Padmaavat is the first Indian film to have an IMAX 3D release, the makers said. Paramount Pictures will distribute the film across select international markets, including non-traditional territories.

It seems the long weekend is working well for the film, which has remained in the news for quite some time now. A completely off-the-rails character of Ranveer Singh as Allaudin Khilji has left the audience in awe of this Sanjay Leela Bhansali film.
