Aashiqui 2, which now stands at number 3 on the Koimoi Top 10- 2013 Movies List is eyeing to surpass Akshay Kumar’s Special Chabbis which stands at the list’s second position. Going by Aashiqui 2‘s escalating prowess, it wouldn’t be a surprise if the film hits a 70 crore plus business at the domestic box office.

Special Chabbis that stands too at the 70 crore mark is now facing substantial discomfort. Trade insiders have theoretically estimated that Aashiqui 2 with its less than 60% drop is defying the box office norm valiantly.

Now standing at domestic cumulative of 64 crores, the film’s earnings is predicted grow in this week and manage to reach 70 crores, and maybe zero the lifetime earnings on 75 crores approximately. The film that was made on a budget of 8 crores is the year’s most lucrative ventures earning almost eight times its original cost.
While a film’s money making isn’t indicative of good cinema, it is appreciative of audience’s appreciation which is a plus always. Fresh faces of Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor and their wonderful chemistry enmeshed with the Aashiqui formula has created a box office uproar of sorts with their collections.
2013 will have many films that will join 100 crore club hopefully, but praiseworthy success of Aashiqui 2 will still remain indomitable among the lot.
