Wazir’s 1st Week Report; Diwale, Bajirao Mastani’s 4th Week Box Office Collections

Wazir has gone down at the Box Office. The film took an ordinary start on its opening day, showed some push on Saturday and then failed to grow much on Sunday. The film had its hopes lying in consistently high collections on the weekdays but that wasn’t the case either. The film first took a drop on Monday and then showed a steady decline with every passing day. As a result, the first week collections stand just around the 29.5 crore mark.

Ideally, for a film with such credentials, solo release, and the fact that it was arriving three weeks after Bollywood had last seen any notable releases (Bajirao Mastani, Dilwale), this should have been the first weekend total.

What is further notable is the fact that the first week collections are lesser than Farhan Akhtar’s Shaadi Ke Side Effects (2014) which had brought in 30.83 crore two years back. That film had ended its run under the 40 crore mark. Now since Wazir has another open week ahead of it, a lifetime total of 40 crore is still a possibility, but that’s about it.
