Veere Di Wedding is winning hearts all the way! The movie opened big and took the position of the the 3rd highest opener of 2018 excluding the Hollywood movies in the list! The movie raked in 10.70 crores on its opening day.
Veere Di Wedding opened in India in 2177 screens, while Overseas it opened in 470 screens so the worldwide total came up to 2647 screens. Since we all know Alia Bhatt starrer Raazi has pulled off a stunner at the Box Office. The film directed by Meghna Gulzar has been doing pretty well and an impressive business on the 4th weekend to reach a figure of Rs 114.89 crores despite the reduced screen counts and new films releasing this weekend.

After giving some stellar performances in films like Highway, Udta Punjab, 2 States and many others, Alia Bhatt is one of the young talents in Bollywood who has proved her mettle in the industry. Raazi marks her third film, after 2 States and Badrinath Ki Dulhania, which made it to the 100 crore club.

Now, Veere Di Wedding has surpassed the collections of Raazi and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety in the highest weekend openers of 2018. Raazi had collected a total of 32.94 crores and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety had collected 26.57 crores on its first weekend. Talking about VDW, the film stands at the total collection of 36.52 crores on its first weekend.
Veere Di Wedding is co-produced by Rhea Kapoor, Ekta Kapoor and Nikhil Dwivedi. It stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania.

The movie has drawn a lot of interest especially as it is Kareena’s first film since she became a mother, and Sonam’s first movie to release since her wedding. For Swara, it is a different zone that she is stepping into and Shikha is making her debut with the project, directed by Shashanka Ghosh.
