The Tashkent Files Box Office: Vivek Agnihotri’s The Tashkent Files released at the Box Office in 2019 with low expectations. There was very little visibility of the film among the audience due to niche subject, lack of marketing and not-so-popular star cast.
The film based on Lal Bahadur Shashtri’s mysterious death took a practically negligible start at the Box Office as it collected 0.40 crore on Day 1. The content was appreciated by those who watched and hence the film remained stable on low levels. Despite such a low start, the film managed to remain at the Box Office for 6 weeks and ended up doing a lifetime business of 16.75 crores. The trending of the film was so good that it collected more in the 2nd and 3rd weeks compared to 1st week.
With a profit of 318.75%, it was the 5th most profitable film of 2019 and was declared a Super-Hit.
