The New Mutants Box Office: After a disappointing first week, The New Mutants managed to find a little stability in collections in the second week. Though that doesn’t really change the overall box office fate of the film.

The latest spin-off of X-Men earned $8.75 million in the US in the first week. The collections got a boost on Labor Day weekend and did better than it was expected to do. The boost also came because the number of theatres in which the film is being screened increased. If The New Mutants was screened in 2,412 US theatres in the first week, it is being played in 2,754 theatres now.

The New Mutants did a business of $843k on its 2nd Friday which was more than 100% jump from its previous day. On Saturday, the collections again jumped and crossed $1 million mark. The film did a business of $1.2 million on Saturday and Sunday followed with a steady $1 million. The collections on Monday also didn’t drop much due to Labor’s Day and the film did a business of $663k.

Reportedly, The New Mutants has done a total business of $12.45 million by Sept 7 in the US. The film has also added $9.04 million from international markets which takes the worldwide total to $21.49 million so far.

Meanwhile, Christopher Nolan’s much-awaited biggie Tenet has crossed $150 million mark worldwide. The film had taken an opening of $53 million in its international market earlier. Not just the film did well there, it also got good contributions from the US & China markets later. While in the US, the film got more than $20 million opening, China contributed $30 million as well.
