The Lunchbox was made on a minimal budget of 10 crores. The film with a strong storyline and fabulous actors has surprisingly put up quite a good show at the domestic box office. By the end of its 3rd week, the film has raked up a total collection of 22.21 crores, earning off a total profit of 12.21 crores at the domestic box office.
The film’s profit rate stands at 122% and with that it has beaten the profit rates of Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Chashme Baddoor and Kai Po Che!. The film has commercially done unexpectedly well despite catering to a specific elite intelligentsia section of the audience!The multiplex crowd seems to have appreciated the film excessively because of which the film is still performing well despite being overshadowed by more commercial flicks like Grand Masti and Phata poster Nikhla Hero!
