The Lion King Box Office Day 4: Yet another Hollywood biggie has made inroads into the Indian Box Office. Just weeks after Spider-Man: Far From Home released and made a gold mark in theatres across the country, now The Lion King has made an even better impression. The first milestone for the film was to cross the 50 crores mark in the opening weekend itself and it did that with ease. Now next in line is an entry into the 100 Crore Club and if the footfalls so far are any indications, it should do that comfortably before the close of second weekend.
The film collected 7.50 crores* more on Monday which is not much of a fall when compared to opening Friday numbers of 11.06 crores. This is in fact an even better hold when compared to last week’s release Super 30 and the manner in which the film is going currently, it would overtake the Hrithik Roshan starrer in the long run.
So far, the animation film has collected 62.25 crores* and it would be close to the 80 crores total before the week is through. That would make it one of the best first weeks for a Hollywood release in India. While 125 crores would be crossed in a jiffy by The Lion King, eventually it would be aiming for the 150 Crore Club before its end of run.
