The Lion King Box Office Day 2 Early Trends: After taking a third highest Hollywood opening of 2019 (India) after Avengers: Endgame and Captain Marvel, this Jon Favreau directorial has performed extremely well on its second day. Looks like the positive word of mouth has finally doing the talking at the ticket windows.
The Lion King expectedly opened with the figures of 11.06 crores and with families being the target audience, the movie was expected to show a healthy jump on Saturday and Sunday. Also the favourable critics’ reviews and public feedback have helped a big time as the collections are said to settle in the range of 17-19 crores on day 2, which are amazing. After two days, the movie stands between 28.06-30.06 crores.

The film is director Jon Favreau’s update of the 1994 Disney classic of the same name, with photo-realistic, computer-generated animation, and it brings back the adventures of Simba, who is to succeed his father Mufasa as King of the Pride Lands. It narrates a tale of how Simba rises up to the occasion despite several attempts to bring him down by his villainous uncle Scar.
The film opened in India across 2,140 screens on July 19 in English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
