The Jungle Book is rewriting the rules in Indian box office. The film is in its 6th week and it is still earning a decent amount. This is a huge statement from the movie and considering the fact that it is a Hollywood movie, the makers have done a commendable job.
The film on its 6th Saturday collected 90 lacs which is more than its 6th Friday collections (59 lacs) and the total is whopping 178.46 crore.
Forget Hollywood, not even Bollywood films last this long in India.
Here’s the 6th week numbers of some of the recent films which had a good run:
Tanu Weds Manu Returns – 1.75 crore
Bajrangi Bhaijaan – 1.49 crore
Bajirao Mastani – 1.26 crore
PK – 1.13 crore
Going by the collections and summer vacation, The Jungle Book can easily exceed these figures.
The Jungle Book is directed by Jon Favreau and it stars Neel Sethi in lead role as Mowgli.
