In the year 2019, we saw the release of Uri: The Surgical Strike which released 2 weeks before January 26 but still made it big. It collected more than double the collections of that year’s Republic Day release. Even this year, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior which released on January 10 has made a stunning entry in the 200 crores club. The film is still going strong and is on the way to cross the lifetime mark of Uri (244.06 crores).
All this while, the highest grosser of January month remains Padmaavat. The film which released on January 25, 2018 collected 300.26 crores at the Box Office.
