Tamasha starring Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor started off on a good note. The film took a decent opening of 10.87 crores on Friday. It continued to grow over the weekend and scored 13.17 crore on Saturday and 14.82 crore on Sunday. Thus, Tamasha made a solid opening weekend collection of 38.23 crore at the domestic box office.
The film has turned out to be best for Imtiaz Ali. It has also become Ranbir Kapoor’s second best opening weekend collection. Tamasha has now ousted Baby from the highest opening weekend collections of the year.

It has beaten the opening weekend collections of Tanu Weds Manu Returns and Dil Dhadakne Do too. The film is now the eighth highest opening weekend grosser of the year.
