Randeep Hooda‘s Swatantrya Veer Savarkar has scored 18.50 crores after spending 15 days at theatres. The film started with collections of 1.10 crore on Monday and then on its 10th day, the second Sunday, it actually did well enough to score 1.90 crore. That clearly conveyed that there was something in there for the audiences that were still managing to bring on footfalls to some extent at least.
Those were, of course, not massive, and the collections, too, were primarily coming from Maharashtra or up-market multiplexes of other major cities. Still, the numbers were there, and hence, one just hoped that the collections would stay around the 1 crore mark during each of the next four weekdays, too. However, with Crew and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire collecting well and bringing in around 100 crores between them, it, of course, got tough for Swatantrya Veer Savarkar to be a preferred choice for the audiences.
The collections stayed at 60-70 lakhs on a daily basis, and since there was no new release this Friday, the collections stayed consistent again. That’s what allowed it to stay in circulation and come close to 18.50 crores. This means that Swatantrya Veer Savarkar will get another shot at scoring a couple more crores in the third weekend. If not, then, at least by Monday, it would certainly go past the 20 crores mark. This would be some sort of respectable lifetime, though, given the merits, it certainly deserved better.
