Sidharth Malhotra seems to have passed the test with flying colors with his film Yodha, which is receiving great word of mouth. It seems like he has finally arrived as a box office star after delivering the most successful debut of his time!
Yes, you read that right; Sid, who made his debut with Student of the Year in 2012, has delivered the most successful debut amongst the millennials who made their debut from 2010 – 2014.

To be fair to the swiftly changing generations in Bollywood, we have taken only a four-year bracket to compare these actors’ performances in their debut films. From 2010 to 2014, nine Bollywood stars made their Hindi film debut – Ranveer Singh, Rajkummar Rao, Kartik Aaryan, Sidharth Malhotra along with Varun Dhawan, Arjun Kapoor, Ayushmann Khurrana, Sushant Singh Rajput & Tiger Shroff.

However, surprisingly, only Kartik Aaryan and Ranveer Singh are the actors who did not deliver a hit in their debut films. Meanwhile, Sidharth Malhotra, who made his debut in 2012 with Student of the Year alongside Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt, opened at 9 crore and collected 70 crore in its lifetime, earning a superhit status with the first film itself.
From 2010 to 2014, as many as five outsiders tried to make their mark in the Hindi Film Industry. These outsiders were Rajkummar Rao, Ayushmann Khurrana, Ranveer Singh, Sushant Singh Rajput, and Kartik Aaryan. Amongst these outsiders, Sidharth Malhotra’s film performed the best as compared to the debut films of these five actors.

In fact, from 2010 to 2014, apart from Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt, two more star kids made their debut. They were Arjun Kapoor with Ishaqzaade and Tiger Shroff with Heropanti. Despite, both the debuts being hit, they stood lower than the Shershaah actor’s debut film Student of the Year when it comes to collections.
Sidharth Malhotra, with his Student of the Year debut, beat the debut with the lowest box office stats by 536%. This was Kartik Aaryan’s Pyaar Ka Punchnama. The Bhool Bhulaiyaa superstar made his debut in 2011 and collected 11 crore at the box office. He was the only actor other than Ranveer Singh to make his debut between 2010 – and 2014 but not deliver a hit.
The biggest debut after Sidharth Malhotra in these 4 years is credited to Tiger Shroff’s Heropanti. Tiger made his debut in 2014, and Heropanti collected 55 crore at the box office.
