While Shootout At Wadala acted Goliath to the omnibus film Bombay Talkies, it did a great job at keeping the audiences adhered to their film despite facing stiff competition from Bombay Talkies in terms of script. The film, which had a brilliant opening at the single screens on Friday, with almost 70% occupancy, continued to hold on well all through Saturday by raising its collections amply.

The film also performed wonderfully overseas in U.K, Australia and New Zealand. In New Zealand the film accumulated about 5 lacs rupees whereas in Australia, where the Indian population is higher it earned good 18 lac rupees approximately. U.K being another country with a high South Asian population saw the upward trend of growth since its release and collected 45 lac rupees from 49 screens where the film released.

UAE with its high expat population raked up 900k Dirhams in two days. And U.S.A collections began to a great start of $55,000.

Though the film’s content is explicitly violent, the film is doing well as expected. Its action sequences teamed with John Abraham’s excellent acting, makes the film a must watch entertainer with a mass appeal. Shootout At Wadala will continue to soar through the week and will sustain its income for a couple of weeks, despite important releases this week like – Gippi and Go Goa Gone.
