Ekta Kapoor’s Shootout At Wadala made it to the Third Highest Opening Weekend Collections of 2013. The film which earned a cumulative of 10.10 crores on Friday and 9.70 crores on Saturday, with a minimal drop, picked up on Sunday by earning 11 crores at the domestic box office. The film’s opening weekend total now stands at 30.80 crores which is the third highest after Race 2 and Himmatwala respectively.

The first weekend has been rather lucrative for the film. John Abraham’s unbeatable and rare good performance and his fabulous depiction of the tragic life of Manya Surve has played handy in earning the film a good domestic total at the conclusion of its first three days.

Made on a budget of under 26 crores, the film has already recovered its investment and is now looking to garner higher profits from their venture. The film’s performance till now has been  impressive and it hopes to achieve better in the days to come.

Distribution Head of Balaji Motion Pictures, Girish Johar took to twitter to leave an excited post on the film’s good performance, “#SAW had a good jump on Sunday… All across, early trends suggest a good 1st wknd !!!Hoping and praying that #SAW clears the “Monday” BO test too with flying colours … Fingers crossed !!”
Director Sanjay Gupta tweeted, “I’ve just been told that we’ve passed the Monday litmus test at the boxoffice. But no more parties yaar. Ab bas. Aaj se back to normal.”
