Shaitaan is on a rampage mode at the box office. It seems like the trade analysts underestimated the power of Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan because they’re achieving milestones every single day. Mumbai has been one of the highest-earning markets in India. But we wonder if the film will be able to surpass the collections made by Hrithik Roshan starrer Fighter in the circuit. Scroll below for all the details!

The horror flick directed by Vikas Bahl is a remake of the Gujarat film Vash. It was released on March 8, 2024, and enjoyed a partial holiday due to Mahashivratri. The film brought in massive earnings of 15.21 crores on the opening day. Projections suggested a double-digit, but Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan starrer clearly hit it out of the park!

Shaitaan vs Fighter

As most know, Fighter is the first Bollywood film to have crossed the 200 crore mark in India. The film received a lukewarm response but managed to clock earnings of 65 crores from Mumbai. It was the star power of Deepika Padukone and Hrithik Roshan that pulled audiences to the theatres despite initial mixed reviews.

It is to be noted that Ajay Devgn films received a highly favorable response from Mumbai. Biggies like Golmaal and the Singham franchise have proved that in the past. And now, with a highly positive response for Shaitaan, will the superstar defeat Hrithik Roshan in 2024? Given the current trend, there is a high chance of that happening. Fingers crossed!

Previously, Drishyam 2 entered the top 10 highest-grossing films in Mumbai. The minimum collection Shaitaan will need from the circuit is 92 crores, and with that, it will surpass Bajrangi Bhaijaan, which is in the 10th and the last spot.
