The first week of Shaitaan has come to a close and the film has already emerged as a very good success. While the hold in the second week will determine how big a success will this supernatural psychological thriller turn out to be, rest assured there are quite a few records that would be chased by the Ajay Devgn starrer. One such record that has already been scored is an entry into the Top-10 biggest Week One ever for the superstar who has been consistently delivering good money spinners.

He may or may not have powerful runs for each of his films, but time and again, Ajay Devgn has ensured good openings for his films, which are in double digits, and then a lifetime run which finds itself around the 100 crores mark at least. Yes, there may have been an occasional Runway 34, but that was an exception. Moreover, it found some very good audiences on the OTT medium.

As for the theatrical biggies, Ajay Devgn has an eventful year lined up with five theatrical releases and the good part is that the first in the list, Shaitaan, has opened positively.

Here is the list of Top-10 biggest Week One/first seven day runners of Ajay Devgn:

  • Golmaal Again – 136.08 crores
  • Tanhaji – The Unsung Warrior – 118.91 crores
  • Singham Returns – 113 crores
  • Drishyam 2 – 104.66 crores
  • Total Dhamaal – 94.55 crores
  • Son of Sardaar – 82.80 crores
  • Shaitaan – 81.60 crores
  • Bol Bachchan – 66.72 crores
  • Baadshaho – 64.14 crores
  • Raid – 63.05 crores

While there are four films of his that have crossed the century mark in the first seven days, Total Dhamaal came close but stopped short in the 90s. Son of Sardaar and Shaitaan are the two films that found themselves in the 80s. While the former was a Diwali release and clashed with Jab Tak Hai Jaan, the latter arrived on a partial holiday, though being niche in subject as well as treatment. Shaitaan should have a stable run from this point on, and while 100 crores mark would be comfortably crossed during the weekend, a lot more will come in weeks to follow.
