Alia Bhatt and Shahid Kapoor starrer Shaandaar was being touted to be a the most interesting romantic comedy of the year, however it surprisingly turned out to be a disappointment. The film’s performance over its first weekend has been quite average. On it’s first Monday, the film collected 2.5 crores, thus taking it’s total to 36.01 crores at the domestic box office.
The Vikas Bahl film opened well but dropped later over the weekend. Shaandaar is not enjoying much of a positive word of mouth but is mainly surviving on it’s star power.

The film also faced a stiff competition from Pyaar Ka Punchnama 2 which released a week prior but managed to be a crowd puller.
