His last production Secret Superstar has been receiving praise and love from its audience all around the world. After a great run in India, followed by its extraordinary success in China the movie, it has made its way into the hearts of its audience in Hong Kong.
On Sunday, Secret Superstar maintained its collections on Sunday, as it managed to collect HK $873,423 at the Hong Kong box office, slightly less than its Saturday collection of HK $913,677. The movie has had a great run so far, maintaining its pace at the Hong Kong box office. During its run in Hong Kong, the film has earned a total of HK $8,953,603 (7.56 crores). With mind blowing performances from Zaira Wasim, Meher Vij and Aamir Khan its not so hard to see why moviegoers in Hong Kong are enthralled by the film, just like people in China. The film is currently being screened at 99 locations.

Aamir Khan has become a icon not only in India, but also around the globe, especially China. Four of his movies have been released in China; 3 Idiots, PK, Dangal, and Secret Superstar. His 2009 film 3 Idiots made Rs 16 crore at the Chinese box-office, whereas PK minted Rs 123 crore, Dangal Rs 1,200 crore, and Secret Superstar Rs 800 crore. movies have been immensely successful in China with the 53-year-old actor becoming one of the most recognised movie stars in the Oriental country.

In a recent interview with South China Morning Post, the actor talked about his character from his upcoming film Thugs Of Hindostan. “Thugs of Hindostan is a big action-adventure film. There’s no message in that.” He said, “I’m playing a character who cannot be trusted at all – [so it’s the] very opposite of Dangal … He’s a very slippery character. He has no scruples at all – for money he can sell his mother out. He’s like that. But [the character] is a very entertaining guy. So it’s a very entertaining kind of a film. No message this time. Just have a good time.”
