Prakash Jha’s Satyagraha opened to an above average occupancy in most circuits on the day of its release. The morning shows recorded an occupancy in the range of 70%-80% at most single screens whereas the multiplexes saw a little lower occupancy in the range of 50%. But, overall the start is good for this multi-starrer, despite getting mixed reviews from the critics.
The film is heavy on star value with the presence of actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor, there are mixed reviews on the film. However, it might manage to withhold a mass appeal given the volatile theme of corruption and its effect on people. A raging issues in the country right now, the occupancy is expected to grow over the later shows and the weekend!
