Post Besharam, Grand Masti Might Not Join The 100 Cr Club

Grand Masti has performed well at the box office so far and till its 3rd Sunday, the film had collected 95.25 crores at the domestic box office. The film was so effective on the audiences that it remained unmoved by releases like Phata Poster Nikhla Hero and The Lunchbox. When the film was in its 3rd week, dull releases like Warning 3D were not competent enough to budge the film from performing well at the box office.

However, with the commencement of the 3rd week, the film has seen a sharp decline in its collections especially after the wrap up of 3rd weekend. On Monday it collected 60 lacs and on Tuesday it gather 65 lacs.

After Besharam hit the screens today, the film has lost considerable screen count and with the Ranbir Kapoor film recording an occupancy of above 90% at most single screens and multiplexes, the chances of Grand Masti hitting the 100 crore mark has lowered drastically.

The film’s current domestic box office total stands at 96.50 crores and has made over 100 crores worldwide with a profit rate of 211%. The film’s collections have been excellent so far given that the genre has little visibility among audiences! It is undoubtedly a Superhit and the first highest grossing A-rated film.
