Amitabh Bachchan starrer Pink, which released along with Raaz Reboot at the box office is happy collecting at the multiplexes. The film isn’t even designed for the single screen audience (a complete reversal from the kind of audience that Amitabh Bachchan catered to during his heydays) and is a film that would be most appreciated by the class audience. Though it is a bit paradoxical that the core subject is meant for the mass as well as class audience, what matters is that at least a start has been made. The film has a cerebral appeal to it, considering the kind of narrative that it has adopted. However, it has stayed loyal to that audience.

For Amitabh Bachchan, this is a good success in the making after delivering two back to back disappointments in TE3N and Wazir. Incidentally, his last big success was Piku and that film too had been made by Shoojit Sircar. The team has now done well with Pink which should benefit immensely by some wonderful word of mouth that it is garnering post the 4.32 crore opening. For the leading lady Taapsee Pannu, this is now her third Bollywood success in a row after Chashme Baddoor [2013] and Baby [2015]. On the other hand Kirti Kulhari has got a good push in her career, which was long awaited after Shaitan [2011].
