Parmanu Box Office Early Occupancy: Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran, starring John Abraham and Diana Penty in the lead roles, has hit the theatres today. It has taken a moderate start at the box office. The movie based on the nuclear bomb test explosions conducted by the Indian Army at Pokhran in 1998, has decent buzz surrounding it, thanks to its terrific trailer.

The movie opened at in India at 1935 screens and 270 screens Overseas. While the worldwide total number of screens stands at 2205 screens. The movie opened at the occupancy of 15%-20% in the morning but it is set to grow in the evening shows.

The film was mired in controversies for a few weeks when there was a tussle between John Abraham and KriArj Entertainment. However, all got sorted a couple of weeks back and this is when the decision was taken around the eventual release date.
