PadMan enjoyed a good first week at the box office as it brought in 62.87 crores*. Considering the fact that the weekend was 40.05 crore, the fall during the weekdays has been less than 50% which is good in fact.
The collections are on the same lines as Baadshaho (64.14 crores) which was a far more commercial film, had opened well and then had a better weekend. Still, PadMan had seen better sustenance at the Box Office and is now headed for a good lifetime.

Baadshaho had collected 78 crores in its lifetime and there is a good probability that PadMan would be able to go past that mark by the end of second weekend itself.

If one looks at the 100 crore earners over the years, the only offbeat films that have managed it so far are Barfi (which was a super hit), Tubelight (which was a disaster) and Akshay Kumar’s own Toilet – Ek Prem Katha (a superhit).
If PadMan manages to go past the 100 crore mark, it would be an achievement no less.
However, from overall commercials standpoint, PadMan is already a success and once it comes in the vicinity of 90 crores, it would be enjoying a higher verdict. The film will now face competition from Sidharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpayee’s Aiyaary which has released this weekend.
