Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat is well on its way to creating history with the paid preview shows and pre-bookings going house full. Despite protests, the movie has managed to earn good numbers through its paid previews a day before its full release.
The huge expectations and immense hype surrounding the film’s release is a testament to how the country has eagerly been waiting to witness the period drama.
Already creating a splash at the box office before its release, the film has everything going for it with rave reviews coming its way not to mention Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s tryst with blockbuster films.
The movie has earned 5 crores on the day before its main release. The shows of the movie started from 6 pm on the evening of 24th January. The number is good considering the kind of revolts it has been facing from Kari Sena in the various parts of the world.
Going by the early trade predictions, if there is any film that has the potential to break records and have cash registers ringing at the box office after blockbusters like SS Rajamouli ‘s Baahubali 2 and Tiger Zinda Hai ,it’s Padmaavat.

Trusted trade sources reveal that big ticket-massive scale films have always been a successful proposition at the box office and Padmavaat has been a film the entire country has been looking forward to for a very long time.
Says Film Exhibitor and Distributor, “Over the extended weekend, the film should cross 100 crores, courtesy of the huge amount of excitement and anticipation among moviegoers. I am very confident about the protesting members of the Rajput community turning their stand and endorsing the film soon after it is released and watched by them because probably no film in the history of Hindi cinema has glorified their valour, bravery and culture as Padmaavat does.”
Viacom 18 Motion Pictures & Bhansali Productions’ Padmaavat released worldwide on 25th January in 2D & 3D .
