Among last Friday’s releases, Paan Singh Tomar picked up very well over the weekend. The Irrfan Khan starrer collected Rs. 75 lakh on Friday, Rs. 1.35 crore on Saturday and Rs. 2 crore on Sunday (all figures are all-India net collections).
However, in spite of the pickup in collections, the final tally of Paan Singh Tomar will not be enough to recover the cost of the film (Rs. 8 crore) plus the interest cost incurred due to the 2-3 year delay in the film’s release.
On the other hand, the collections of the Ali Zafar-Aditi Rao Hydari starrer London Paris New York were not very good. The film collected Rs. 1 crore on the opening day; Rs. 1.25 crore on Saturday and Rs. 1.35 – 1.50 crore on Sunday. The final tally of the film will not be good enough to cover its cost (Rs. 14 crore).
The other two Hindi releases, Diary Of A Butterfly and Will You Marry Me? could garner less than Rs. 75 lakh and Rs. 1 crore respectively.
