A few days back, Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom aka Aquaman 2, surpassed the lifetime collection of Oppenheimer at the China box office. Starring Cillian Murphy in a titular role, the biographical film was originally released on 21st July 2023, and upon its release, the biggie opened to extraordinary reviews from critics all across the globe, and even word-of-mouth was highly positive. Apart from that, the phenomena of Barbenheimer, i.e., a clash with Barbie, helped the film a lot in attracting footfalls.

Oppenheimer set for a re-release in China

After earning a good enough collection in China, Oppenheimer is all to enjoy a special re-release in the country. The re-run is scheduled to start on March 1, and once again, it is expected to enjoy good traction in the country. For those who don’t know, the film earned $61.62 million in China during its original run.

Now, with China re-run, Oppenheimer will add a few million to its total, which will push the film on the list of highest-grossing Hollywood films in the post-COVID era at the Chinese box office. On the list, it is expected to beat the lifetime of Aquaman 2, No Time To Die, and Tenet.

Apart from the films on the list, No Time To Die ($65.1 million) and Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom ($64.5 million) are ahead of Oppenheimer.
