[OPINION] War Box Office: Will It Take 50 Crores+ Opening At The Box Office? Here’s Why OR Why Not!

Action has always been one of the biggest action genres in Bollywood. It’s one genre which appeals to all the sections and all the demographics when we talk about the audience. Take a look at the list of highest openers of All Time and you’ll see the names of many action films. Thugs Of Hindostan, YRF’s last period action drama with an opening of 50.75 crores in Hindi version still tops the chart. Baahubali 2 took an opening of 41 crores in Hindi version despite being a Telugu film. Sultan (36.54 crores), Tiger Zinda Hai (34.10 crores), Dhoom 3 (33.42 crores) & Ek Tha Tiger (32.92 crores) are just another prime examples.

Apart from this Hrithik Roshan & Tiger Shroff have a great track record when it comes to action films. Hrithik’s highest opener Bang Bang was an action film. His 2nd highest opener Krrish 3 was an action film. In fact, his Dhoom 2 was one of the biggest openers of All Time when it released back in 2006. Tiger Shroff’s highest opener of All Time is Baaghi 2 which took a surprising opening of 25.10 crores last year.

On top of this, War is releasing on a big national holiday and that’s going to take the Box Office prospects of the film on another height. The promos and music of the film has been well accepted and that makes us question what stops the film from taking an opening of 50 crores or plus? Well, a clash with another big Telugu film Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy & Hollywood film Joker will surely eat up some of its business at the Box Office and will make it difficult for War to cross 50 crores mark on Day 1.

But we are ready for the surprises and are keeping the fingers crossed. Aren’t we?
